Important - I don't recommend applying to painted surfaces. Paint used on Omen markers are enamel and should therefore be hard wearing and not require maintenance other than wiping.
Your custom Omen ball marker is more than just a tool on the green - it’s a piece of craftsmanship, a personal statement, and in many cases, a collectible. Whether your marker is made from brass, copper, silver, or another high-quality alloy, proper care will keep it looking sharp and preserve its finish for years to come.
One of the best ways to protect your marker is with Renaissance Wax - a museum-grade microcrystalline wax polish originally developed by the British Museum for artifact conservation. It’s trusted by collectors, restorers, and artisans worldwide, and it's ideal for preserving metal finishes without damaging patinas or fine detailing.
Unlike traditional waxes or polishes, Renaissance Wax doesn’t yellow, attract dust, or leave a sticky residue. It creates a thin, durable barrier that helps prevent tarnish, corrosion, fingerprints, and moisture damage. It’s perfect for custom ball markers, especially those with intricate engraving or hand-applied finishes.
Caring for your marker with Renaissance Wax is simple and only takes a few minutes:
A little care goes a long way. With proper maintenance using Renaissance Wax, your Omen ball marker will continue to age gracefully - developing a rich character unique to you, without losing its original quality.
Generally it doesn't. Pieces which have had the wax applied will note this in the description (e.g. Midnight Marigold has the wax applied to preserve the black patina we applied during the production process). Not everyone wants their piece to look factory fresh for years, many golfers prefer the natural patina that develops over time.
We may start to offer pieces with Renaissance Wax applied to future releases at a no cost option. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
